Early Morning Coffee Weakness

September 17th, 2004 at 05:52 am

I was weak this morning. My husband and I both bought some Dunkin Donuts because we didn't make any at the house as we usually do.

I figured it was ok as I made dinner last night for 80 cents. I'm so proud! 80 cents which fed two adults, and there's enough left over for lunch today.

I'm thinking about preparing a recipe book/binder for myself with meals that are under $1 per person to prepare. That way, when I see ingredients on sale in the flyers I can look through my binder to locate a recipe and make sure I have everything else I need before I hit the grocery store. Does anyone else do something like this?

The Mighty Bargain Hunter has a HORRIBLE coffee weakness. DD has great coffee and I love the lids that they hand out....they don't cut your mouth! Anyway, coffee "mess" at my work is $2/month for all I can drink, so I can't complain too much! Wink

I made tomoto soup with basmati rice inside. A 28 ounce can of tomato puree was only 78 cents, and I have a huge bag of rice that I used some from.
I actually cooked four cups of rice last time, and froze 3 cups of it. Then I just scooped out what I needed for the soup.
It was the first time I've done that - it's going to be a regular for the winter.
