we went to BJ's for the first time this weekend. We had been getting a free membership card in the mail for months, so we decided to give it a shot since it wasn't costing us anything.

Some items actually will save us money, some I can get for cheaper when they're on sale at the grocery store. It's a good thing I remember sale prices and what we usually pay (still haven't done my grocery price book).
We spent nearly $100, but that food will last us forever.
One great item we bought is rice flavoring. I make a meal out of flavored rice and frozen veggies usually once a week, costing about $1.10. I never pay more than 99 cents for the rice.
But, with this flavoring, I only need white rice (which I always have on hand for cheap) and a tablespoon of this flavoring.

I calculated it will save me $14 per bottle. Wahoo!
