Multi-task cooking

January 10th, 2005 at 05:52 pm

I usually make a large Sunday meal because I actually have time to, on Sundays.
Yesterday, it hit me that I could spend just a bit longer in the kitchen but make many things at once. This would save me time, energy since the stove wouldn't need to preheat on other days, and aggravation in the middle of the week when I'm too tired to cook.
By planning it out, I made:
banana bread
foccacia from scratch
Pasta e fagioli soup

It only took me 2 hours too! (the foccacia had to rise for 1 hour)
Now that my husband is home, he'll more likely munch on these instead of eating pre-made, processed food.
